ABOUT ME
Originally from Scotland, I moved to France in 2010 – unintentionally at first, then eagerly, so keen was I to stay with the Frenchman I had fallen in love with and followed. Fast forward to now and we live in the Paris region, are married, and have with various cats and children.
I write about France as someone who, prior to coming here, found the idea of France intimidating and probably had some mild hostility built up towards it. But living here has knocked away every single fear or prejudice I had about the French and their beautiful and, at times, infuriating country.
Maybe it’s because I grew up in the eighties watching too many sitcoms but I think of France as Britain’s sexy nextdoor neighbour: aloof, mysterious, and with strange smells emanating from the kitchen. But now I have hopped over the fence. I am poking in France’s knicker drawer, reading the labels in the medicine cabinet, rifling through the bins and I am reporting it all back to you through stifled giggles. JOIN ME.
